February 6th

Date details +

Please join us as we celebrate Shambhala Day and enter the New Year of the Earth Boar, welcoming its qualities of industriousness and transparency, forgiveness and nurturing, honesty and humor.  Please register below if you are planning to attend.

Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the New Year and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism. Based on the traditional Tibetan New Year's celebration of Losar, the day is calculated according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, and changes every year to coincide with the annual lunar cycles.

You may feel that saying “Cheerful Shambhala Day” is not appropriate at this time but those emotions of pain, anger, sadness and empathy are the natural expressions of basic goodness, full of compassion from our open hearts.

Shambhala Day is a time for us to express the wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through practicing with our sangha, welcoming new members, experiencing gratitude and connecting with the larger Shambhala mandala.

This is also the time when members of the Shambhala community are encouraged to make a financial donation in order to help support our local centers as well as our worldwide community.

Dress uplifted and come with an open heart!
